Latin America Strengthens Its Position in Global Crypto and Fintech Arenas Two major events in 2025 are set to highlight Latin America’s expanding role in the cryptocurrency and financial technology sectors. LABITCONF in Buenos Aires and the Latam Epayment Summit in Lima will gather thousands of professionals, developers, and executives.

LABITCONF 2025 Reinforces Bitcoin Community and Decentralization Themes

LABITCONF 2025 transformed Buenos Aires into a central point for Bitcoin and blockchain enthusiasts. The event occurred at Costa Salguero with more than 9,000 participants across nine stages. A total of 330 speakers delivered presentations, and the program included 250 talks, 43 activations, and 45 thematic lines.

Rodolfo Andragnes, founder of LABITCONF and the NGO Bitcoin Argentina, stated that the conference aims to share knowledge and celebrate freedom. Andragnes emphasized that Bitcoin influences not only economics but also perspectives on property rights and community sovereignty. The audience comprised a diverse mix of early adopters, developers, and newcomers, indicating sustained growth in decentralized technologies.

Technical debates and workshops covered Bitcoin fundamentals, artificial intelligence, Web3, tokenization, and regulatory frameworks. Prominent speakers included Amir Taaki, Francis Pouliot, Nick Spanos, Nathan Sexer from the Ethereum Foundation, and Brian Klein, an attorney involved with Tornado Cash.

Local experts like Roberto Silva of the CNV, Joan Cwaik, and Martín Yeza contributed insights on innovation and regulation. Companies such as Binance, Ikiigi, Exness, BingX, CoinEx x ViaBTC, and Ledn displayed projects designed to accelerate Bitcoin adoption. LABITCONF also initiated the Tecweek Buenos Aires, a series of technology and digital finance events throughout November.

Latam Epayment Summit 2025 to Address Payment System Evolution in Lima

Lima will host the Latam Epayment Summit 2025 from November 24 to 26. The Comité Payments of the Cámara Peruana de Comercio Electrónico (Capece) organizes this event. More than 1,000 leaders and senior executives from over 16 countries will convene at CC Hotel Los Delfines.

Discussions will center on financial inclusion, digital transformation, cross-border instant payments, digital banking, and open banking. Helmut Cáceda, executive president of Capece, noted that the summit provides a dialogue space to understand payment methods and fintech developments. Cáceda expressed conviction that banking and payment tools can transform national economies.

The summit will assemble representatives from financial institutions, payment facilitators, acquirers, digital wallets, banks, fintech firms, retailers, and crypto asset entities. Ten thematic axes structure the agenda: decoding Latin America’s payment ecosystem; financing for small and micro enterprises; purpose-driven banking; Open Finance as state policy; Banking 2030 and beyond traditional models; crypto and stablecoins disrupting payments; cash management in gambling; democratizing digital money; cross-border payment innovation; and cybersecurity in digital payments, including artificial intelligence roles.

Seventy speakers from organizations like Alipay, Cubo from Banco Itaú, Binance, PAGBANK, BCP, BBVA, Yape, Mastercard, YOL1, Movii, Paysafe, Paynau, Niubiz, Izipay, and Culqi will participate. Cáceda highlighted Peru’s attractive market conditions, citing flexible regulation and low financial penetration as key factors for investor interest.
