Wormhole introduces multichain assets to Base on Aerodrome, starting with HYPE, enhancing liquidity and ecosystem growth, according to Wormhole’s official blog.
Wormhole, a prominent interoperability platform, has announced the integration of multichain assets from major ecosystems to Base through Aerodrome, with the initial inclusion of HYPE, the native token of HyperEVM. This move is expected to establish a robust framework for transferring high-demand digital assets from leading blockchain networks directly to Base, underpinned by Aerodrome’s substantial liquidity, according to Wormhole.
HYPE Token: A Strategic Choice
The decision to launch with HYPE stems from its significant market presence, boasting a market capitalization of $13 billion. As the first asset to be integrated into Base via this initiative, HYPE represents a crucial expansion for the Base ecosystem. HyperEVM, powered by Hyperliquid, is engineered to unify trading, applications, and token launches on a singular blockchain, designed to encompass all financial activities. Wormhole plans to introduce additional high-demand assets to Base through Aerodrome in the future.
Enhancing Base’s Asset Ecosystem
Wormhole Portal now enables users to transfer HYPE from HyperEVM directly into Base. The portal, with a track record of $55 billion in cumulative volume and over a million users, provides a secure method for asset transfers. Backed by Wormhole’s robust infrastructure, which has facilitated over $68 billion in multichain transfers, this initiative ensures the security and reliability necessary for large-scale liquidity on Base.
Utilizing HYPE on Base
Users can transfer HYPE to Base through the Wormhole Portal, with each transaction contributing to XP for Portal Earn. Additionally, AERO emissions are currently being directed to the HYPE/WETH liquidity pool on Aerodrome’s platform. After bridging HYPE to Base via Wormhole Portal, participants can engage in Aerodrome’s incentive program or utilize HYPE within Base’s expanding ecosystem.
