The Shiba Inu developers have been gearing up for the launch of the much-awaited Shibarium mainnet, the Layer-2 scalability platform of Shiba Inu. As per the current schedule, the Shibarium mainnet launch shall happen at the upcoming Blockchain Futuristic Conference.
A cryptic tweet From Shiba Inu lead developer Shytoshi Kusama suggests that the world’s richest man Elon Musk could be present during the Shibarium mainnet unveiling. Shytoshi Kusama, the lead developer of Shiba Inu, hinted in a tweet that the SHIB team is excited about having Elon Musk at their upcoming event in Toronto, Canada, scheduled from August 13 to 17, 2023. The tweet came as a response to a picture of Musk wearing a shirt that said “I Love Canada.”

The Shibarium mainnet Launch Is Finally Here
Last month in July, Kusama mentioned that his team will probably talk about and introduce the long-awaited L2 Shibarium during the Blockchain Futurist Conference. They have been releasing updates gradually over the past few months.
Additionally, he confirmed that the conference will include a multi-month hackathon for Shibarium. The main goal of Shibarium is to make the Ethereum network more scalable and efficient. In his latest update with the blog post “BONE: The Passport To Shibarium”, Kusama added:

Shibarium Beta PuppyNet and Its Milestones
While the Shiba Inu developers have been working on Shibarium’s mainnet launch, the beta version PuppyNet already went live earlier this year in March. Within a few months of launch, PuppyNet has hit some key milestones recording 25 million transactions indicating massive demand in the community.
During the beta testing phase of Shibarium (Puppynet), over 1.45 million blocks were processed, and the number of wallet addresses reached 16.98 million. According to data from PuppyScan, the total transactions on Shibarium beta Puppynet have now reached 33,886,822. The total number of wallets stands at 17,063,134, and the total processed blocks have reached 1,925,518, with an average block time of 5.0 seconds.
As the official launch date of Shibarium approaches, it is expected that the transaction rate and the number of wallet addresses will continue to grow.
