Injective (INJ)USDC (USDC.inj) replaces Noble USDC across Cosmos and dYdX, streamlining stablecoin use with Circle’s latest CCTP infrastructure.

Injective (INJ)USDC (USDC.inj) has officially been adopted as the new standard stablecoin across the Cosmos ecosystem and dYdX. This transition, announced on September 10, 2026, is being coordinated by Circle, Injective, Cosmos Labs, and dYdX, marking a significant shift from the previously used Noble USDC (USDC.n). The migration opens on September 11, 2026, via the Skip:Go platform, providing a streamlined process for users to convert their holdings.

The move consolidates USDC representation within Cosmos, reducing fragmentation and aligning the ecosystem around a single native stablecoin issued by Circle on Injective. Stablecoin fragmentation has long been a challenge for DeFi users, particularly in ecosystems like Cosmos, which rely on inter-chain communication via IBC (Inter-Blockchain Communication). By standardizing on Injective USDC, traders, lenders, and developers gain access to a stablecoin supported by Circle’s Cross-Chain Transfer Protocol (CCTP) v2, which extends its usability to chains like Ethereum, Solana, and Base.

dYdX and Injective Lead Adoption

dYdX, a major decentralized derivatives platform, will adopt USDC.inj as its sole eligible trading collateral. This eliminates the need for bridging between different USDC representations, making trading more efficient. Migration instructions for dYdX users will be provided closer to the transition date, ensuring a smooth shift.

Injective, meanwhile, supports USDC across both its EVM and Wasm virtual machines, enabling broad use in DeFi applications, payments, and programmability. According to Injective’s documentation, institutions can mint or redeem USDC directly on Injective using Circle Mint, benefiting from sub-second transaction finality and low fees.

Key Transition Dates

  • September 11, 2026: Skip:Go migration opens, allowing users to convert USDC.n to USDC.inj.
  • October 13, 2026: Circle Mint ceases new minting of USDC on Noble.
  • January 13, 2027: Circle Mint and CCTP access for Noble ends entirely, with manual redemption required for remaining balances.

Users are encouraged to complete the migration by October 31, 2026, when restrictions on legacy Noble transfers begin tightening. After January 13, 2027, any USDC held in smart contracts or liquidity pools on Noble will not qualify for manual redemption.

Why This Matters

With a market cap of approximately $74.37 billion as of September 10, 2026, USDC remains a cornerstone of DeFi and Web3 liquidity. Transitioning to Injective USDC aligns the Cosmos ecosystem with Circle’s latest infrastructure, enhancing cross-chain compatibility and reducing friction for users. Supported chains at launch include dYdX, Osmosis, Cosmos Hub, Terra 2.0, and others, with more integrations expected.

This migration also positions Injective as a critical hub for stablecoin activity within Cosmos, leveraging its native support for Circle’s CCTP v2. For traders, this means fewer delays and lower costs when moving assets across chains, while developers gain a unified stablecoin for building applications with deep liquidity and cross-chain operability.

For dYdX users, the adoption of USDC.inj simplifies operations and ties collateral to the broader Cosmos ecosystem, making it easier to participate in decentralized markets without bridging limitations.

Action Steps

Users holding USDC.n are advised to use Skip:Go’s migration tool starting September 11. Follow dYdX’s specific instructions if you’re a trader or liquidity provider on the platform. Institutions should transition to Circle Mint on Injective for smoother fiat conversions and USDC minting.

By consolidating liquidity and enabling seamless cross-chain transfers, Injective USDC is poised to become a foundational asset for the next generation of DeFi on Cosmos.
