  • Aircraft over the Argentinean coast gives away bitcoin to encourage the adoption and understanding of cryptocurrencies.
  • Capture images, share on networks and receive BTC as a reward in this innovative initiative.

In an unusual but tremendously innovative campaign, the Bitcoin Iberoamerica Foundation and the NGO Bitcoin Argentina have kicked off a campaign that involves a plane taking to the skies off the coast of Argentina to give away bitcoin (BTC). This unique effort aims to boost the use of the leading cryptocurrency and raise awareness among the population about its countless benefits.

The plane will make two trips between Villa Gesell and Costa Esmeralda on Thursday, and another one over Mar del Plata on Friday, between 1 and 5 pm. The particularity of this campaign lies in the active participation of people in the reception of BTC. Citizens are encouraged to capture images of the plane and share them on social networks such as Twitter and Instagram, using the hashtag #eshoradebitcoin.

The reward for participating in this non-commercial initiative is extremely attractive

The first 200 people to photograph the plane and share their images will receive 21,000 satoshis, which is equivalent to about $10. The main purpose of this initiative is not only to encourage participation, but also to cultivate public interest and understanding of bitcoin.

The premise behind giving away bitcoin in this way is to give people the opportunity to experiment with the cryptocurrency and better understand how it works. According to the Bitcoin Iberoamerica Foundation, the goal is for people to consider saving in bitcoin, especially with their children’s future in mind.

During the flight, the plane will display an eye-catching banner with the slogan: “It’s time. Save. Now.“ This message, highlighted by a distinctive orange color that includes the bitcoin logo, seeks to capture the attention of spectators on the beach and generate curiosity about the possibilities offered by the cryptocurrency.

Rodolfo Andragnes, member of the NGO Bitcoin Argentina and promoter of the campaign, emphasizes that it is always a good time to understand bitcoin, and this non-commercial campaign aims to remind people of that. With the expectation of an increase in the price and adoption of BTC following the approval of ETFs in the United States, interest in cryptocurrencies is on the rise.

This is not the first time a bitcoin promotional campaign has taken place in Argentina. In January 2021, the same slogan was used to deploy messages on public roads in several Latin American countries. The strategy of giving away satoshis to those who actively participate through photographs has proven effective in the past.

These types of non-commercial campaigns to spread bitcoin are carried out in various parts of the world. A notable example was the initiative of the German collective Ideas are like Flames in 2020, which rewarded those who pasted stickers with pro-bitcoin messages and shared photographs as proof.

The campaign of the plane giving away bitcoin off the coast of Argentina is a unique and eye-catching approach to promoting awareness and adoption of cryptocurrencies. As the world moves towards greater acceptance of digital currencies, creative initiatives like this play a crucial role in educating and engaging the community.
