- A popular X account has disclosed that XRP ETF applications filed by Bitwise, 21Shares, Grayscale, and Canary could be approved on May 18-22.
- Applications filed by ProShares, Volatility Shares, and Franklin Templeton are also expected to receive approvals in October-December 2025.
In a recent update, CNF discussed the development surrounding the end of the Ripple vs SEC legal battle. This has increased speculations on the possible approval of the various spot XRP Exchange Traded Funds (ETFs). To put all rumours to bed, an X account called “All Things XRP” has created a thread, summarising the key details involving all nine ETF filings, their current application status, and the estimated decision date by the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).
Starting with Bitwise XRP ETF, “All Things XRP” highlighted that it was filed on October 2, 2024, becoming one of the first applications received by the SEC. However, an acknowledgement of receipt was issued by the regulator on February 18, 2025. Being furthest ahead in the process, the ultimate decision is expected to be made on May 18, 2025.
Similarly, the Canary Capital XRP ETF, which was also filed on October 8, 2024 and acknowledged on February 19, 2025, has been predicted to have its official decision made on May 22, 2025.
The third filing highlighted by “All Things XRP” is the 21Shares Core XRP Trust. According to the post, this was filed on November 1, 2024. Despite its filing coming after that of Canary Capital and Bitwise, the SEC acknowledged it on February 14, with a decision expected to be made on May 22, 2025.
Other Estimated Dates for XRP ETF Decisions
The fourth on the list was Grayscale XRP Trust Conversion. According to the post, this was filed on January 30, 2025 and acknowledged on February 14. Its decision is expected to be made on May 21. Once approved, “16.1M XRP Trust would be converted into a full-fledged ETF.”
The next filing highlighted in the post was WisdomTree XRP Fund. As mentioned previously in our report, this was filed on December 2, 2024, and was acknowledged on February 19, 2025. According to the account, the estimated approval could be any day between June and July 2025.
For the CoinShares XRP ETF, it was reportedly filed on January 24, 2025 and acknowledged on February 19. The SEC is expected to decide on this application between July and August 2025. ProShares XRP ETFs were also filed on January 17. The post hints that it could get approved between October and November 2025 since acknowledgement was made on March 3, 2025.
The Volatility Shares XRP ETF, which was filed on March 7, 2025 and was acknowledged on March 24, has been predicted to receive approval between November and December 2025. Franklin Templeton XRP ETF which was filed on March 11 and acknowledged on March 27, just as discussed earlier, is also estimated to have its decision made between November and December 2025.
