Shiba Inu (SHIB), the second-largest meme coin in the market with a market capitalization of $7.14 billion, has carved out a unique niche in the crypto space. Its competitors, PEPE and Official Trump (TRUMP), trail behind, but SHIB has managed to build its brand, develop a die-hard fan base, and become a competitor to Dogecoin (DOGE).
The distinctive feature of Shiba Inu is the functionality in its ecosystem. The SHIB ecosystem is created to utilize multiple tokens, each serving a distinct purpose: SHIB is the community’s governance token, BONE powers the technological progress of the platform, LEASH manages judicial matters, and TREAT, the newest addition, is committed to innovation and promotion.
26 Predictions for SHIB in 2025
Finder Research surveyed 26 crypto experts with varying views regarding Shiba Inu’s prospects this year during the first quarter of 2025. Based on the survey, 48% of the respondents are of the view that SHIB is overvalued currently, while 44% of them believe it is reasonably priced, and just 8% of them believe it is undervalued. According to the report, the panelists predict SHIB will be valued at $0.0000399 by the end of 2025, an 84.30% increase from its starting price of $0.00002165.
Among the bullish is Ronen Cojocaru, the CEO of 8081 Inc., and Gracy Chen, Bitget’s CEO, who projects a price of $0.0000600 by year-end 2025. She cites recent technological advancements, including SHIB breaking resistance levels and forming new support, as signals of a prolonged bullish trend.
Similarly, Seasonal Tokens founder Ruadhan O forecasts SHIB closing out 2025 at $0.0000500, although he warns that DOGE remains a strong competitor “The launch of the new TREAT token, if handled well, could address concerns about centralization, and the bull market of 2025 is likely to carry SHIB upward along with the rest of the market,” He added. Mitesh Shah, the founder and CEO of Omnia Markets, sees SHIB’s value rising based on “community sentiment.”
On the more skeptical side, John Hawkins, a senior lecturer at the University of Canberra, predicts SHIB could lose half its value and end 2025 at $0.00001, comparing the future of memecoins to the decline of NFTs. He argues that political factors like the Trump re-election, Elon Musk’s growing influence, and increasing talk of a Bitcoin (BTC) reserve could make BTC and DOGE more appealing, potentially weakening SHIB and other altcoins.
Jeremy Britton, CFO of BostonTrading.co, is even more critical, labeling SHIB a sell due to its massive token supply, over 500 trillion. He dismisses its long-term viability, noting that even “the greater fool theory” has limits when the numbers simply don’t add up.
