Solana-Based Altcoin Instantly Explodes Over 75% After Project Makes Big Announcement

One Solana (SOL)-based altcoin project is soaring after the project issued a major announcement.

Decentralized wireless network project Helium (HNT) announced Tuesday the launch of a new affordable cell phone plan over its network available to those in the United States.

Says Helium Mobile,

“It’s here. Our nationwide $20/month unlimited phone plan is now available! The average American spends $157/month on their phone plan, but starting today, anyone in the US can join Helium Mobile and say goodbye to overpriced bills.”

HNT soared from a low of $2.74 on Tuesday to a high of $4.71 on Wednesday, a more than 75% increase. HNT has since retraced and is trading for $4.16 at time of writing.

Helium Mobile initially launched the service exclusively to those in Miami earlier this year.

At the time, Helium Mobile said,

“We’re launching in a single city to continue to scale our unique coverage model that combines our partner’s nationwide 5G network with the people-built, open-source Helium Mobile Network.”

Helium says the service is more affordable than traditional carriers because its model leverages infrastructure owned by individuals who can earn MOBILE tokens for sharing data. The company also teamed up with telecom giant T-Mobile to give subscribers access to the nation’s largest 5G network.
