NVIDIA’s AI stack is driving robotaxi adoption globally, with Uber, Lyft, and Waymo scaling fleets on its platform. Market projected at $400B by 2035.

NVIDIA (NASDAQ: NVDA) is at the forefront of the global robotaxi push, with its full-stack autonomous vehicle (AV) platform now powering fleets across North America, Europe, and Asia. Leading mobility providers like Uber, Lyft, and Waymo are leveraging NVIDIA’s DRIVE Hyperion architecture to scale commercial fleets. The robotaxi market, projected to reach $400 billion by 2035, is quickly becoming one of the first large-scale applications of physical AI.

The NVIDIA platform underpins every stage of the robotaxi lifecycle, from training AI models to simulating real-world driving scenarios and enabling in-vehicle autonomy. Its modular, three-computer approach—spanning AI training, simulation, and real-time vehicle computation—has become the de facto standard for major AV programs. Companies such as Uber, Bolt, and May Mobility rely on NVIDIA’s stack to accelerate deployment and refine their fleets.

Breaking Down NVIDIA’s Robotaxi Stack

NVIDIA’s end-to-end technology stack is built around three core systems:

  • Training Computer: NVIDIA DGX systems process vast amounts of fleet data to train advanced driving models. Its Alpamayo framework offers tools for tackling edge-case driving scenarios using reasoning-based AI.
  • Simulation Platform: NVIDIA Omniverse and Cosmos generate synthetic driving data, enabling developers to simulate millions of traffic, weather, and sensor conditions. This accelerates validation and reduces reliance on physical road testing.
  • In-Vehicle Compute: The DRIVE Hyperion 10 platform, featuring dual DRIVE AGX Thor chips, supports Level 4 autonomy with real-time 360-degree sensor fusion. Its safety-oriented design ensures reliability even with component failures.

This holistic approach allows automakers and fleet operators to integrate NVIDIA’s tools into their own technology stacks, reducing time-to-market while maintaining safety standards.

Global Adoption Accelerates

Leading robotaxi players are adopting NVIDIA’s solutions at scale. Uber plans to deploy 100,000 NVIDIA-powered vehicles by 2027, while Lyft integrates NVIDIA DRIVE Hyperion for future fleets. In Asia, WeRide and Grab are collaborating on Level 4-ready robotaxis, while European operators like Bolt are tailoring NVIDIA’s platform for regional requirements.

Automakers are also embedding NVIDIA technologies into production vehicles. Mercedes-Benz is developing an S-Class-based robotaxi using the DRIVE Hyperion stack, and Hyundai-Kia is expanding its data-driven AV systems with NVIDIA. Meanwhile, Tesla continues to train its autonomous-driving networks on NVIDIA supercomputers, underscoring the platform’s dominance in the space.

Market Implications

The robotaxi market’s projected growth to $400 billion by 2035 positions NVIDIA as a critical infrastructure provider. By focusing on supplying the compute, software, and simulation tools rather than directly operating fleets, NVIDIA captures value across multiple layers of the ecosystem. Its DRIVE Hyperion platform, already a standard for Level 4 autonomy, aligns with the industry’s push toward scalability and safety.

For investors, NVIDIA’s dominance in the robotaxi space complements its broader AI and data-center strategies. As of September 2026, NVIDIA’s market cap stands at $5.29 trillion, with shares priced at $217.85. Despite a 2.6% dip in 24-hour trading, the long-term outlook remains strong, driven by its leadership in AI compute and physical AI applications like robotaxis.

NVIDIA’s role in shaping the future of transportation underscores its position as a key player in the AI-driven economy. With partnerships spanning Uber, Waymo, Mercedes-Benz, and more, the company has entrenched itself as the backbone of global autonomous vehicle development.
