Hong Kong is set to host its second Green Week starting September 8, 2025, focusing on global sustainability initiatives and climate solutions.
Hong Kong is gearing up to host its second annual Green Week, scheduled to commence on September 8, 2025. Themed ‘Forging a Sustainable Future Together,’ this event is poised to serve as a global platform for dialogue and collaboration on sustainability. The Hong Kong Monetary Authority (HKMA) announced that the event has garnered significant interest, with over 50 institutions from both public and private sectors participating.
Global Collaboration for Sustainability
The Green Week will feature more than 35 events, including global conferences, business expos, executive roundtables, and practical workshops. These events aim to bring together business and financial leaders, policymakers, industry specialists, and scholars from around the world. The focus will be on exploring solutions for energy transition, building climate resilience, and accelerating climate technology development—key challenges in the current sustainability landscape.
HKMA’s Role and Key Events
The HKMA, a central figure in organizing the Green Week, will co-host several major events. These include the Climate Business Forum: Asia Pacific on September 9, the ESG Workshop on September 10, and the 2025 Green Fintech Symposium, which will conclude the week on September 12. These events underscore Hong Kong’s role as a burgeoning hub for sustainable finance and knowledge in the Asia-Pacific region.

Eddie Yue, Chief Executive of the HKMA, emphasized the critical juncture at which global efforts to combat climate change currently stand. He noted the strong commitment from global stakeholders and the demand for viable sustainability solutions. Yue highlighted the remarkable growth of the sustainability ecosystem in Asia-Pacific and recognized Hong Kong’s position as a sustainable finance and knowledge hub.
