Cronos (CRO) Labs has announced a series of significant updates and initiatives for its zkEVM project, according to official sources. The updates aim to enhance the user experience and foster community engagement within the #CROFam ecosystem.
Latest Testnet Upgrades and Community Engagement
The Cronos zkEVM project has launched the Tethys testnet, marking a significant milestone in its development. The new testnet integrates zkSync’s technology, allowing secure and efficient cross-chain interactions with the Ethereum Mainnet. Users can participate in testnet quests via Galxe until June 30, with more community activities expected in the coming weeks. These include the “Cronos zkEVM Pioneer Program” with loyalty points, pre-mainnet CRO deposits, and mainnet quests.
New Initiatives and Collaborations
Several projects within the Cronos ecosystem have announced new initiatives. Veno Finance introduced a giveaway to celebrate the launch of Liquid TIA Staking, offering a reward pool of $500 in $VNO for participants who stake at least $10 worth of TIA. Ebisu’s Bay has airdropped 600,000 $FRTN tokens to early users and launched a raffle for over 40 rare NFTs.
Wolfswap concluded Season 4 of their rewards campaign, reporting an average of 420 daily traders and a total volume of $22 million. Season 5 is set to begin on June 24. Earn Network also announced an expansion of their product offerings on the Cronos EVM blockchain.
NFT and DeFi Campaigns
Minted Network launched the Golden Tree of Fortune collection in collaboration with Earn Network. LILLIUS introduced LILLI NFTs, which offer exclusive access and points convertible into $LLT token rewards. CroSkull NFT started Season 8 of their Adventures for staking Croskulls.
New America NFT is preparing for an early play test of their Web3 game, HyperCity, in July. Mad Meerkat NFT will launch a new mini-game, Jumpy Meerkat, next month, with periodic challenges for prizes. Cr00ts is set to release version 3.0 of their game, featuring new play styles, animations, and characters from partner projects.
Additional Updates
Corgi Studio has enhanced their launchpad in the Creator Lounge on Cronos, adding features like OnlyMeID and adjustable mint schedules. FuryBrawl is incorporating new AI and 3D characters into Web3 games on Cronos EVM. LOAF announced several initiatives, including a Galxe giveaway and the release of the ToastOff game.
Crow with knife ($CAW) partnered with Wolfswap, directing half of the trading fees to the community treasury. Misteryoncro ($MERY) launched an educational blog and announced support from KyberNetwork. Fortune Favors The Bozos now allows users to purchase NFTs from over 30 collections using their tokens.
Strategic Partnerships and Programs
Cronos EVM has onboarded Exaion, a subsidiary of EDF, Europe’s largest electricity group, as the latest blockchain network validator. The Cronos Accelerator program also highlighted demo day presentations from its latest cohort, offering valuable insights for users and startup founders.
