Canaan Inc. will provide 6,840 Avalon A15Pro miners to Cipher Mining’s Black Pearl facility, aiming to enhance the facility’s hashrate and cater to growing demand for efficient mining solutions.
Canaan Inc. (NASDAQ: CAN), a prominent player in the crypto mining sector, has announced a strategic agreement with Cipher Mining Inc. (NASDAQ: CIFR) to supply approximately 6,840 Avalon A15Pro miners. These units are slated for deployment at Cipher’s Black Pearl facility during the third quarter of 2025, according to PRNewswire.
Enhanced Hashrate for Cipher Mining
The new batch of A15Pro miners is expected to significantly bolster the operational hashrate at the Black Pearl site. Each unit offers an average hash rate of 221 terahashes per second (TH/s) with a power efficiency of 16.6 joules per terahash (J/TH), marking a substantial improvement in performance metrics.
Strategic Manufacturing and Deployment
This initiative highlights Canaan’s commitment to supporting U.S.-based bitcoin mining operations through domestic manufacturing. The miners will be produced in Canaan’s facilities in the United States and Malaysia, reflecting the company’s adaptive logistics and fulfillment strategies that cater to region-specific demands.
Nangeng Zhang, Chairman and CEO of Canaan, emphasized the growing global demand for bitcoin mining solutions amid rising bitcoin prices. He noted that customers are increasingly prioritizing rapid deployment and operational reliability, areas where Canaan has established a strong reputation.
