No one expected AVL, Avalon Labs’ governance token, to take the spotlight so swiftly. AVL surged by more than 83% as soon as it was listed on Bithumb, the second-largest cryptocurrency market in South Korea, rising $0.76 before eventually seeing a correction.
AVL Surpasses Bitcoin’s Volume with a Strong Debut

Avalon Labs has also announced their roadmap for 2025. The main focus? Integrating Bitcoin into the wider financial system. Their goal is not only to create Bitcoin-based financial instruments, but also to connect DeFi protocols with traditional financial services.
Given the several legal and adoption obstacles still present, this is somewhat a daring action. But Avalon seems to think that Bitcoin serves as the basis of a more open and decentralized financial system, not only as a speculative asset, thus it has more importance in the financial space.
Beyond the Surge: What’s Next for AVL?
AVL is obviously not a regular cryptocurrency, with an amazing price spike and trading volume exceeding Bitcoin on Bithumb. Still, the issue is whether this is only a fad or if there are solid principles driving its expansion.
AVL has the potential to become a big participant in the market if Avalon Labs can execute all of its plans—from USDa, a Bitcoin debt fund, to the merging of DeFi and traditional banking.
