Ukraine’s Ministry of Digital Transformation has launched the Meta History Museum of War, alongside an NFT collection titled “Warline” whose floor price for each piece is set at 0.15 ETH, or roughly $450+ at current pricing for Ethereum.

According to Ukraine’s Ministry of Digital Transformation, the metaverse museum will house a collection made with the ministry’s support, with the intent of serving as a digital repository and chronicle of the most recent events in the country’s ongoing conflict with Russia. The collection will also feature personal reflections from Ukrainian digital artists, as well as participating digital artists from across the globe.

All images on display at the so-called museum will be available for purchase as NFTs. Ukraine’s Ministry of Digital Transformation has partnered with Fair.xyz, a purpose-driven NFT platform that uses Ethereum and Polygon.

“We lean on the permanence, transparency and accessibility of the blockchain to ensure the memories of the past month are never erased from history, and remain immutable, decentralised and unaltered with the passing of time. We do not know how or when the conflict will end, but one thing is clear: ‘History will be written by the victors’ no longer holds in Web3. History will be written by the people.” stated Fair.xyz

Notably, all the images within the museum will remain hidden unless and until sold. This scheme means that interested investors will be doing blind purchases of every select item. A tagline from the museum’s website attempts to explain this peculiarity: “You unveil the truth buying MetaHistory.”

The assets will be sold in chronological order based on the dates depicted. According to Mykhailo Fedorov, Ukraine’s Vice Prime Minister and Minister of Digital Transformation, the platform will serve as a “place to keep the memory of war” that in turn is aimed at celebrating “Ukrainian identity and freedom.”

Fair.xyz and the Ukrainian Ministry of Digital Transformation have resolved to use proceeds from the sale to support Ukraine’s defense, as well as provide civilian aid during the conflict. This collection follows a slew of support pouring to Ukraine’s aid, with over $100 million worth of crypto being donated since Russia’s aggressions became a matter of international attention.
