Maghnus Mareneck, Co-CEO of Cosmos Labs, initiated the event with a keynote emphasizing the construction of Layer 1 blockchains by institutions and governments. McKinsey’s Michael Kirchner presented data indicating that stablecoins are the primary entry point for financial institutions into blockchain, driven by the need for faster cross-border settlement and lower operational costs. However, he noted a gap in digital asset preparedness among institutions.
