- CHAISE, an organisation imparting blockchain skills in the EU and an IOTA partner, has now become the European Blockchain Skills Cooperation Network (EBSCN).
- IOTA has celebrated the transition, which makes the organisation a sustainable alliance that brings together regulators, industry leaders and academic institutions.
Multiple studies have found that there is a massive skills deficiency in the blockchain world, with several companies struggling to find talent, especially in technical roles. This has made education and upskilling critical to the success of blockchain in the future. One of the leaders in this field has been CHAISE, an organisation that has focused its efforts on Europe. Now, the organisation—which is a longtime IOTA partner—is transitioning to become an industry alliance.
CHAISE launched four years ago to address the blockchain skills mismatch across Europe. In that time, it has impacted thousands of people across 13 countries and provided a thriving workforce for dozens of companies. The organisation’s scope has now broadened, however, as interest from several sectors heightens, pushing it to transition into an encompassing entity that brings various players together.
CHAISE announced recently that it has now transitioned to become the European Blockchain Skills Cooperation Network (EBSCN). Under this new role, it will cease to become an entity that relies on grants and donations to become a sustainable industry alliance.
“EBSCN will bring together public authorities, industry leaders, and educational institutions to create practical training solutions and build strong partnerships,” it stated in its announcement.
The transition also allows the entity to expand beyond blockchain and delve into other emerging technologies, it added, stating:
Looking ahead, EBSCN plans to expand Europe’s blockchain competence while also exploring its connection to artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, and the Internet of Things. Our ultimate goal is to assist Europe in developing the skills required to maintain its competitiveness in blockchain innovation.
IOTA has been a CHAISE partner for years, and it took to X to celebrate the transition and pledge to work with the new entity.

IOTA is a well-established player in the European blockchain space. As we reported a month ago, it was one of the companies that joined the second cohort of the European Blockchain Sandbox Initiative (EBSI). The European Commission established the initiative to support DLT applications across Europe. As a participant, IOTA will explore decentralised identity solutions and KYC protocols for the Web3 ecosystem. Being a member of the sandbox allows IOTA to receive firsthand regulatory clarity from the European watchdogs for its products before they hit the market.
IOTA was also part of the European Blockchain Pre-Commercial Procurement (PCP) where it worked on digital product passports.
IOTA trades at $0.1184, gaining marginally over the past day for a $414 million market cap.
