- HUMAN Protocol Foundation and Elrond Network are collaborating to enable fast, scalable, low latency, cost-efficient, and sustainable machine learning.
- The two also seek to enable global workers to get rewarded for contributing their human reasoning to AI development.
The HUMAN Protocol Foundation and the Elrond Network have partnered to enable scores of global workers to operate on an internet-scale. Importantly, the HUMAN Protocol Foundation seeks to reshape how humans and machines work together. Elrond Network, on the other hand, is an internet-scale blockchain technology that brings people into the new global economy.
As smart systems are built, the demand for human annotation of raw data continues to rise. The Foundation leverages on this, providing millions of opportunities for people to provide their reasoning in AI development. This teaches computers to be more human. In essence, HUMAN Protocol is a blockchain-based labor marketplace. Task Requesters share problems necessitating human reasoning, while Workers solve them in exchange for the Human-Machine Token (HMT).
The @human_protocol is coming to @ElrondNetwork.🔥
With it, hundreds of millions of micropayments & workers from decentralized work pools.
Massive step for Elrond utility.#mission10 Day 7.https://t.co/8EQEKzxugC

To further this, HUMAN Protocol works together with hCaptcha. This is a bit-blocking software used by roughly 15 percent of the internet. HCaptcha is mostly used by Goggle’s reCAPTCHA mainly because websites are paid when visitors complete a CAPTCHA. A simple example is when Google prompts users to “click all pictures with cats” to prove that they are human.
HUMAN Protocol vision and challenges
In its vision, HUMAN Protocol looks forward to supporting such applications in their on-chain deployment. Completing CAPTCHA offers significant help in training and understanding their observations. Additional tools such as the Intel Computer Vision Automation Tool (CVAT), support data exchanges on the HUMAN Protocol. With them, data exchanges can cater to a variety of data processing requirements. More so, the tools make tasks available to Workers based on their abilities and history.
Originally launched on Ethereum, the HUMAN Protocol was immediately faced with difficulties in throughput and feature challenges. In order to realize its mission of creating a global work marketplace, the partnership with Elrond Network became imperative.
Elrond utilizes Adaptive State Sharding technology which allows scaling with demand by adding new shards. Each shard has the ability to process an additional 5,000 TPS. Using the tech, the network currently processes 15,000 transactions per second (TPS) and can scale beyond 100,000 TPS. The network’s goal was to bring a 1000-fold cumulative improvement in execution speed and throughput.
Elrond Network and AI development
Elrond boasts of unique blockchain features such as smart accounts and tokens embedded within the protocol. Moreover, Elrond is an eco-friendly network since it offsets more CO2 that it is accountable for. Other critical features are high throughput, low latency, cost-efficient transfers, and sustainability.
Integrating with the HUMAN Protocol will, therefore, facilitate its creation of decentralized work pools in addition to dispensing billions in micropayments. Furthermore, the new team will focus on creating tools and integration mechanisms for building data exchanges on Elrond. Workers will thereafter be able to select tasks, enter their Maiar @herotag, and earn rewards for their effort. Elrond Network CEO Benjamin Mincu expressed his excitement in the new collaboration saying:
[…] the field of machine learning is set to make enormous progress.
