ElevenLabs, renowned for its advanced text-to-speech (TTS) technology, has collaborated with WorkHaven to enhance the accessibility of recovery resources for survivors of Domestic and Family Violence (DFV). Through the Verdella program, this partnership aims to overcome language barriers by offering audio guidance in nine different languages, according to ElevenLabs.
Breaking Language Barriers with AI
The Verdella initiative, managed by WorkHaven, provides essential support to DFV survivors, assisting them in their journey towards recovery. Recognizing the challenges posed by language differences, ElevenLabs utilized its cutting-edge voice technology to produce audio content for Verdella’s nine modules. Initially available in English, these audio files are designed to offer personalized guidance to participants, facilitating a more tailored recovery experience.
Multilingual Expansion
In a significant expansion effort, Verdella’s audio resources are now available in eight additional languages: Arabic, Hindi, Korean, Punjabi, Tagalog, Vietnamese, and both Simplified and Traditional Chinese. This multilingual initiative has been made possible through the collaboration with 2M Language Services, ensuring certified translations that maintain the integrity and effectiveness of the program.
Impact on Survivors
This strategic move allows a broader audience to access Verdella’s resources in their preferred language, potentially increasing engagement and effectiveness. By offering these resources in multiple languages, ElevenLabs and WorkHaven are not only enhancing accessibility but also empowering survivors to navigate their recovery with greater ease and confidence.
The collaboration between ElevenLabs and WorkHaven highlights the transformative power of AI technology in addressing societal challenges, particularly in providing critical support to vulnerable communities. As the program continues to evolve, it sets a precedent for how technology can be leveraged to bridge gaps in accessibility and support.
