The Cardano Layer-1 blockchain network is seeing tremendous traction in almost every aspect of its ecosystem. In its latest ecosystem update for the week, it was revealed that the total number of projects building on the blockchain is now pegged at 1,230.
The protocol has other novel milestones defined for the week which also spans the issuance of 8.18 million native tokens on the network. Of the total of 1,230 that are building on the chain, exactly 126 launched in what signifies a very novel move to help push the diversity of decentralized applications on the Cardano protocol.
Tagged one of the most technologically advanced layer-1 blockchain protocols that are competing with Ethereum as the dominant hub for smart contracts, Cardano relies on the developmental efforts in its ecosystem to keep a consistent pose to sustain its growth. While still behind Ethereum, the 65.4 million transactions carried out on the protocol show promise that Cardano is also worth watching out for.
In line with its prior performances, the week also saw as many as 72,037 token policies released within the Cardano network. Per the highlights shared, 7,828 Plutus Scripts were written out of which a total of 2,410 scripts are on Plutus V2.
Championing innovation and forthcoming upgrades on Cardano
Charles Hoskinson, the founder of the Cardano blockchain is known for his transparent approach to the developmental efforts in the community. Notably, he is leading a hoard of innovators who also believe in decentralization. Some of the DApps that have been introduced thus far are some of the most innovative in the crypto ecosystem thus far.
These include the DJED stablecoin which is considered the most collateralized in the industry. While the Cardano name is becoming more relevant with respect to the diversity of its offerings, there are still additional innovations scheduled to go live within the blockchain.
In this regard, there are a number of significant events being scheduled for the smart contract by core development teams. For Instance, the Marlowe team has not enhanced the structure and updated Haskell of several index functions within the smart contracts, there are also plans to build on the property tests, the testing of precise trace-based failure for Marlowe Validators, and general updating of the Cardano smart contracts documentation.

It is not uncommon for regular updates to take place on Cardano, however, none of these impact the operational functionality of the network.
