DeStor Partners with DCENT for Decentralized S3 Cloud Storage
DeStor, a prominent marketplace for decentralized storage solutions, has launched DeStor S3 Cloud Solutions, an enterprise-ready object storage service powered by DCENT. This collaboration aims to provide businesses with a decentralized alternative to traditional storage, enhancing speed, efficiency, and security.
FIL Dev Summit Returns to Bangkok
The FIL Dev Summit is set to take place in Bangkok from November 6th to 8th at Gaysorn Urban Resort. The event will gather developers, builders, storage providers, and community members to discuss protocol improvements, new tools, and features, and to collaborate on overcoming key challenges. Attendees can participate by submitting talk proposals, sponsoring the event, or joining the conversation on Filecoin’s Slack and Twitter channels.
Spark Improves Data Retrievability
Since May 2024, the FIL+ team has been advocating for the inclusion of retrieval data from FIL Spark in datacap allocation decisions. This initiative has significantly improved the retrieval success rate for Filecoin Storage Providers. As of September 2024, over 60 storage providers have achieved a retrieval success rate above 90%, with some reaching as high as 99.9%.
Filecoin Ecosystem Digest Launches
The inaugural issue of the Filecoin Ecosystem Digest, titled “All Systems Go,” is now live. The Digest features seven editorial articles authored by members of the Filecoin ecosystem, covering topics such as interplanetary resilience, AI-generated media, and sustainable data centers.

Storacha has introduced learnyouw3up, an interactive, hands-on approach to learning about the decentralized storage ecosystem. This game challenges users to build, break, and master Storacha’s w3up service, making web3 storage accessible and engaging.
Filecoin and io.net Collaboration
The partnership between Filecoin and io.net has made significant progress over the past nine months, including the onboarding of 1,500 GPUs from Filecoin Storage Providers. This collaboration aims to unlock new revenue streams through GPU computing for AI and ML tasks and has been highlighted at major events such as the FIL Dev Summit in Singapore and FIL-Vegas.
DocumentCloud Secures Public Interest Documents
DocumentCloud, a platform used by newsrooms worldwide, is now utilizing Filecoin to ensure the long-term preservation and distribution of over 11 million key public interest documents. Supported by the Filecoin Foundation for the Decentralized Web, this initiative aims to protect these documents from threats to public access.

FIL Singapore on September 20th will feature a convergence of Web3, AI, and industry innovators, hosted by MetaPals and supported by the Filecoin Foundation. Additionally, the FIL Bangkok Mainstage event on November 11th will explore decentralized AI infrastructure, DePIN, and the data economy.
