Shiba Inu
- Shytoshi Kusama says that the team is in talks with “friends” to integrate Shibarium with centralized exchanges, and this could spark demand for Shiba Inu.
- Shibarium is also the blockchain network that boxing legend Manny Pacquiao’s charitable foundation will use for fundraising activities as the chain gets real-world traction.
It’s an exciting time for the Shiba Inu community as Shibarium, the Layer 2 network that launched a few months back, gets real-world integration. Whether it’s through integrations on centralized exchanges or being used to fundraise by one of the biggest boxing legends of all time, Shibarium is proving to be a hit in the blockchain world and beyond.
Shytoshi Kusama, the pseudonymous Shiba Inu lead developer, revealed in a Telegram conversation that his team has “been in discussion with some new friends” when asked whether they had any plans of integrating the network with CEXs.
By integrating with CEXs, the developer team will allow users to directly transfer tokens to and from exchanges on Shibarium. Ethereum is the most popular rail in the industry, and with hundreds of billions of dollars moving via exchanges daily, the network sees significant volume through these integrations. Others that have become popular include TRON, Binance’s BNB Chain and Solana.
CEX integration wouldn’t be new for Shibarium. The network was integrated last month by BitcoinTry, a Turkish exchange. Other than SHIB, the integration allows other Shibarium tokens like BONE and MARSWAP FARM to easily trade on the exchange.
Any CEX integration will not have an immediate effect on the price of SHIBA INU or any of the other ecosystem tokens. However, in the long term, it will increase the number of users and consequently the demand for these tokens.
Currently, SHIB is trading at $0.000008605, up by a measly 0.9% in the past day. It has dipped significantly since hitting a six-month high on November 11. However, it’s still up by 24% in the past 30 days.
But while these integrations won’t affect the price immediately, they are going to be massive for user numbers. Shibarium currently averages 13,000 transactions daily, a number that could skyrocket with these integrations. It also boasts just under four million total transactions and over 1.25 million wallet addresses.
Boxing Legend Manny Pacquiao Chooses Shibarium
Shibarium is getting real-world traction. In the latest show, it was selected by the Manny Pacquiao Foundation for operation and fundraising activities.
The foundation is named after and was founded by Emmanuel Pacquiao, the Filipino boxing legend and eight-division World Boxing Champion. He is the only boxer to win 12 major world titles in eight different weight divisions.
In a statement, director Jon Sisson stated:
The Pacquiao Foundation is dedicated to fighting for those in need around the world and has already done so for more than a million people requiring urgent assistance. Shibarium will allow us to continue this good work while scaling up operations to help millions more.
With real-world use cases like this, Shibarium, and the entire Shiba Inu ecosystem can rise from being considered a mere meme coin to becoming a big player in the crypto industry.
