The Shiba Inu (SHIB) ecosystem will make blockchain-based digital identity part of the project’s future developments.
Shib, the ecosystem’s official Twitter account, says that lead developer Shytoshi Kusama is planning to integrate Self-Sovereign Identity (SSI) in all Shiba Inu projects.
SSI is a blockchain-based digital identity solution akin to passports for proving identity in the digital world. SSI gives users total control over how their digital identity is stored and used.
According to Shiba Inu influencer Lucie, Shibarium SSI offers five huge benefits for all holders of the ecosystem’s tokens.

The announcement comes amid excitement over the project’s highly anticipated layer-2 scaling solution, Shibarium. Shib says the community is already seeing massive growth ahead of the launch.
“Our community is growing at warp speed. We’ve just reached an all-time high in the number of addresses holding SHIB, witnessing a remarkable 22% increase in the past week. Welcome to all the new SHIBARMY recruits.”
SHIB is currently trading for $0.00000837. The Dogecoin (DOGE) competitor is up by 7.2% over the past week but remains over 90% down from its all-time high of $0.00008616.
