Bitcoin is Better Than Gold

The American electronics engineer and philanthropist – Steve Wozniak – highlighted Bitcoin as a mathematical phenomenon. He went even further, saying the primary cryptocurrency is better than gold.

Steve Wozniak Amazed by Bitcoin

The co-founder of the multinational tech giant Apple – Stephen Wozniak – showed his sympathy towards digital assets and particularly bitcoin in a recent presentation at the Talent Land Jalisco, Mexico.

The engineer, also known by his nickname “Woz,” described the largest cryptocurrency by market capitalization as a “mathematical miracle.” In his opinion, gold falls behind the virtual asset as a store of value. Wozniak argued that the precious metal could present challenges due to its physical form, while bitcoin is much more accessible:

“Gold is limited and you have to look for it. Bitcoin is the most amazing mathematical miracle.”

Nevertheless, Apple’s co-founder shared that he does not invest personally in bitcoin. On the other hand, he believes that the asset will increase its fiat currency value and influence in the future.

As such, Wozniak has joined other prominent names to outline a similar view on the debate between gold and bitcoin. Some of those include MicroStrategy’s Michael Saylor and SkyBridge Capital’s Anthony Scaramucci who recently opined that the cryptocurrency is superior to the yellow metal.

Wozniak and his Bitcoin Scam Case Against YouTube

In the summer of 2020, Steve Wozniak filed a lawsuit against YouTube for not taking necessary measures to prevent fake Bitcoin giveaways. Before taking these legal actions, Apple’s co-founder urged the video-sharing platform to take down the fraudulent videos several times.

It is worth noting that fake Bitcoin giveaways represent a growing threat in the cryptocurrency industry. Scammers begin live streams on YouTube impersonating famous individuals or companies and offer to double all BTC funds, which victims send to their addresses. Needless to say, all people that fall for such dubious activities do not receive the promised funds.

Almost a year after undertaking legal action against YouTube, Steve Wozniak reportedly lost the case. The Superior Court of California, County of Santa Clara said that the video-sharing platform was protected by federal law.

The court also determined that Wozniak’s arguments were not enough to overcome the immunity provided by Section 230. Nevertheless, Apple’s co-founder had 30 days to try to revise his case.

Interestingly, Steve Wozniak is far from being the only celebrity involved in such scams. Some of the other famous names impersonated by bad actors included Elon Musk, Bill Gates, and Kanye West.
