Introducing “Shibacals”: Authenticating Ownership on Shibarium
Shibarium, a forthcoming layer-two blockchain within the Shiba Inu ecosystem, will revolve around its three tokens: SHIB, BONE, and LEASH, primarily focusing on the metaverse and NFTs. Set to launch later this year, Shibarium will encompass various features, including blockchain gaming, decentralized entertainment, account abstraction, and international governance, as outlined in a blog post released on Thursday by developer Shytoshi Kusama.
According to Kusama, Shibacals will emphasize authenticity and aesthetic appeal, enhancing the concept of collectibility. Through NFC chips, Shibarium will authenticate real-world items and create new business possibilities, similar to item authentication on eBay but with blockchain integration.
Additionally, Shibacals collectibles are expected to take 4 to 6 weeks to create, prioritizing high quality and handmade craftsmanship. The developers are collaborating with various blockchain teams to utilize the authentication technology.
The blog post concludes by stating that any cryptocurrency community, whether Bitcoin or alternative digital coins, can utilize this service to enhance engagement by producing authenticated collectibles.
