The Stellar Development Foundation (SDF) annual conference known as Meridian is scheduled to hold in Madrid, Spain from September 26 to 28. The theme of this year’s conference is Unlocking Human Potential and it is centered around bringing together several stakeholders from the Decentralized Finance (DeFi) ecosystem and the traditional finance niche to discuss innovative ways to upscale the industry.
These stakeholders include developers, founders, entrepreneurs, policymakers, and other leaders who would talk about unlocking access in innovative ways through blockchain technology and by extension, empowering people to meet their potential in real, tangible ways. Meridian 2023 marks the Fifth Edition of this conference and SDF would have the honor of having actor, filmmaker, and United Nations Goodwill Ambassador Idris Elba in attendance.
The actor claimed that he had been an entrepreneur from a young age who grabbed opportunity because according to him “opportunity equaled freedom.”
As a result, he noted he is “really interested in what is happening on the Stellar network and joining the discussion at Meridian to talk about how to create opportunities that help people reach their potential. It’s about freedom, that sort of ability and agility to move about, and I believe that’s important.”
Apart from the actor, about 100 other speakers are expected to grace the occasion with over 400 attendees from 50 countries. Summer K. Mersinger, Commissioner at the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC), Alex Holmes the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of MoneyGram, and several executives of SDF would be speaking at the Meridian 2023.
All these speakers will give keynotes, tech talks, panels, debates, workshops, and interactive experiences around technologies, DeFi and TradFi. Applications are still open for speakers who can share insights on smart contracts, stablecoin, DeFi, Central Bank Digital Currencies (CBDCs), crypto regulation, interoperability, and a long list of other blockchain-related topics.
Harnessing Stellar Network Innovative Technology
The agenda of Meridian 2023 is considering the fact that existing traditional systems make little or no effort to include people or explore their potential. However, the narrative could be changed with new tools and innovative technology which are springing up, and eventually, the human potential will be unlocked. Ultimately, this innovation was designed with the Stellar Network in mind.
