Shiba Inu (SHIB), the world’s second largest memecoin has continued to gain additional in-roads in the payment ecosystem through some of the highest profile partnerships the industry is recording this year. In one of the latest updates, BitPay has inked a very strategic partnership with digital currency on-and off ramp payment service provider, Ramp Network to enable its users or anyone to purchase Shiba Inu.
The relevance of SHIB has grown beyond just a hype token or a memecoin into a cryptocurrency that has a number of associated utility attached to its existence. The empowerment of BitPay to open an access to buy SHIB will push the payment outfit on the frontlines of the SHIB army who are always exploring new and innovative ways to spend their Shiba Inu holdings.
BitPay considers itself as a major gateway for users in the mainstream financial world to gain direct entry and exposure to the Web3.0 ecosystem and it said its addition of the Ramp Network is one of its recent moves to broaden access to crypto for its users. The company said it has previously granted access to crypto through earlier integrations with Simplex, MoonPay and Wyre.
It appears as though BitPay has a special interest for the memecoin as it is naturally attracted to outfits that have one form of connection or the other to the memecoin. In another highly celebrated partnership, BitPay tapped Swiss watch manufacturer, Hublot which announced earlier that it is accepting payment through Shiba Inu.
While its foundational fundamentals are hinged on fun, Shiba Inu has carved a very unique pathway for itself as a payment token with so much industry diversity across the board.

Besides the direct push by payment outfits like BitPay and Ramp Network integrating Shiba Inu as a means of payment, the memecoin has also been carving a niche for itself in the enterprise world by pushing forth direct partnerships with established brands.
As reported earlier by Crypto-News Flash, SHIB has now been featured as a crypto token of choice for booking flights to Vietnam. Per the report, the allowance was made possible by Travala who partnered with the memecoin to be offered as a payment option to clients who wish to visit Phú Quốc in Vietnam.

Besides these bold embraces, the emergence of the Shibarium layer-2 protocol is also set to change the narrative surrounding the utility of the cryptocurrency.
