IOTA staking round 5 starts: This is how you stake your MIOTA for ASMB for the next 90 days

• The pre-staking for MIOTA has already started and will last till February 11, after which ASMB tokens reward distribution will commence.

Earlier this week, the IOTA Foundation concluded Round 4 of MIOTA staking for the Assembly tokens (ASMB) offered in rewards. As per the latest announcement by Assembly on Wednesday, February 8, Round 5 for MIOTA staking has already commenced, and the ASMB rewards token distribution will start as early as February 11.

There will be a three-day pre-staking period from now to February 11. Since this Saturday, a 90-day staking period will start for receiving token rewards and would continue up to May 12, 2023.

As per the predefined structure, 20% of the entire Assembly tokens supply will be distributed as ASMB rewards to the IOTA stakers. For users to participate in the staking process, they need to have the latest version 1.7.1 of the Firefly wallet. Along with allowing users to participate in the latest staking round, the Firefly wallet will show the total number of tokens distributed in the previous staking periods. Besides, it will also allow users to track the current token rewards.

As said, the three-day pre-staking period goes live between February 8 to February 11. Soon as the pre-staking period ends, users will start receiving rewards in their wallets over the course of the next 90 days.

For each MIOTA token staked, users receive 0.000001 ASMB every 10 seconds over the 90-day staking period. In order to receive the airdrop, each staked wallet should have a minimum of 1.0 ASMB.

Guide for Staking With Firefly Wallets

The first thing users need to ensure is that they have installed version 1.7.1 of the Firefly wallet.

1. Log into your profile by entering the pin and navigate to the staking tab. Using Balance Finder users can see their balance from the previous staking periods.
2. Users will then see two options – either “pre-stake” or “stake your tokens”. Also, each wallet belonging to a user profile should be staked separately. After marking their IOTA tokens for staking, users will receive a transaction with attached metadata indicating that they agree to stake the marked funds.
3. In order to stake a wallet, users just need to hit the “stake” button. Once the user starts staking, they need not necessarily keep the app open in order to receive the airdrops.
4. As the user hits the “confirm” button, firefly will issue the special staking transaction. Once the transaction has been confirmed, the user interface will update showing that you’re now ready for staking.

Even after the pre-staking period, users can continue to participate in MIOTA staking. Just that the user won’t get the maximum benefit of a 90-day staking period.

Users can also send their staked tokens from a staked wallet anytime. However, in this case, they will need to manually re-stake any remaining tokens. If the users try to send tokens that they have already staked, Firefly will issue a warning in this case.
