Blockchain interoperability solution, Wanchain announced the successful integration of Polkadot (DOT) on its platform allowing developers on Ethereum, Avalanche, Moonriver, and compatible chains to use the token on their decentralized applications (DApps).
Announced Tuesday, the world’s premier decentralized blockchain interoperability solution, Wanchain is integrating industry-leading decentralized, non-custodial cross-chain infrastructure with Polkadot. Following the partnership, users and developers on compatible chains will be able to integrate Polkadot’s native token, DOT, directly on their DApps such as Polkadex via Wanchain.
Wanchain, or the Wide Area Network blockchain, is the first decentralized blockchain interoperability solution aiming to allow users to transfer tokens and smart contracts seamlessly across different blockchains. The latest integration connects Polkadot to the larger cross-chain decentralized finance (DeFi) world. Additionally, this will provide direct bridges connecting Polkadot to other compatible chains including Ethereum, Wanchain, Moonriver, and Avalanche, which are already deployed.
“Last month, Wanchain deployed cross-chain bridges connecting Moonriver and Avalanche to the cross-chain DeFi world,” Li Ni, Wanchain VP of Business Development and Operations said. “Now, Wanchain is the first project to build decentralized bridges connecting Polkadot to the larger cross-chain DeFi industry.”
Li added that working closely with Polkadot, Wanchain’s best-in-class cross-chain infrastructure will connect a number of chains to $DOT and to the larger cross-chain DeFi world. Simply put, Polkadot’s integration to Wanchain will allow developers and users to build DeFi protocols and DApps using $DOT.
Polkadot, the eighth largest cryptocurrency in the market cap, aims to build a completely decentralized Web3 protocol connecting private and consortium chains, public and permissionless networks, oracles, and future technologies that are yet to be created, its website reads. The blockchain, via its Polkadot relay chain, allows independent blockchains to communicate and exchange transactions and tokens in a trustless and seamless way.
As cross-chains systems continue to gain popularity and adoption rates soar, the DeFi industry still requires advanced interoperability of assets, data, and smart contracts. The latest integration with Polkadot reinforces Wanchain’s goal to build the world’s most advanced cross-chain solution and marks an important step towards building an interoperable multichain future.
