The launch of Claynosaurz’s Popkins NFT collection has been hailed as a significant success, thanks to the innovative use of Sui’s blockchain technology, according to Mysten Labs. By leveraging Sui’s flexible infrastructure, Claynosaurz was able to push the boundaries of on-chain innovation, offering an engaging experience for its community.
Innovative Launch Strategy
The Popkins NFT launch featured a public mint, where 25,000 mystery packs were sold at 200 USDC each, with only 2,000 containing a Popkin NFT. Buyers who did not receive a Popkin were refunded and given additional rewards, demonstrating a customer-centric approach to NFT sales.
Impressive Campaign Metrics
The campaign achieved impressive results, with 97,347 NFT tickets minted and 17,760 unique holders. The ticket sales amounted to 17,644,000 USDC, and the entire process, including minting and refunds, was completed with minimal gas costs, emphasizing the efficiency of the Sui platform.
Technical Infrastructure and User Experience
To ensure a smooth user experience, Claynosaurz integrated several Sui tools. Enoki was used for sponsored transactions, allowing users to participate without needing SUI for gas fees. Walrus and Tusky were employed for hosting the 3D animated assets, ensuring efficient storage and rapid delivery.

Claynosaurz utilized Sui’s object model to create a sophisticated on-chain ecosystem. Shared objects were employed for secure concurrency, allowing multiple users to interact with the system simultaneously without bottlenecks. Dynamic collections enabled scalable registries, and Sui Kiosks facilitated controlled asset trading with enforced royalties and trade rules.
