Electronic music icon Don Diablo has unveiled his latest music video, ‘BLACKOUT,’ which demonstrates a cutting-edge approach to visual storytelling by integrating NVIDIA RTX-powered generative AI. The video represents a hybrid creative workflow, combining local and cloud-based tools to achieve speed, control, and a unique narrative experience, according to a blog post from NVIDIA.
Innovative Visual Storytelling
The ‘BLACKOUT’ music video is set within an industrial warehouse, featuring Don Diablo performing against an immersive, AI-generated backdrop. The creative team utilized a NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5090 GPU for local image creation and experimentation, while the final animation was rendered through Kling AI, a cloud-based generative video tool. This approach allowed for high-fidelity results and creative autonomy.
Hybrid Workflow and Tools
For image-based work, the team employed ComfyUI, a visual, node-based interface that supports building and customizing generative AI workflows. This tool enabled quick iterations and distinctive visuals, aligning closely with Diablo’s artistic vision. A custom model, trained on a dataset of Diablo’s facial features, was integrated into a Stable Diffusion pipeline, ensuring consistent and stylistically cohesive visuals.
Creative Freedom with AI
Once the imagery was finalized, Kling AI’s cloud-based platform was used to animate the visuals into dynamic scenes, leveraging its advanced physics and cinematic capabilities. This process showcased the potential of combining local RTX-powered tools with cloud-based resources for creative projects.
